What You're Getting

What This Is NOT
- Live 1-on-1 tutoring
- 24/7 on-demand support
- Full review of school exam papers
- Guaranteed grade improvements (we provide expert teaching; results depend on student effort)
Payment & Refunds
Simple Rule: No Refunds, But Transferable
Payment:
- Pay upfront in full
- Trial fee: S$7 (credited if you enrol within 5 days of receiving feedback)
- Term packages available (Request for current pricing)
No Refunds:
Once you pay and get access, we don't offer refunds.
BUT You Can Transfer:
- Transfer your enrolment to another student within the same calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
- Transfer fee: S$50
- Can only transfer once
- The new student must be approved by English Mastery and must meet the Program's suitability criteria (self-directed Secondary 1-4 student)
- Only remaining lessons can be transferred (e.g., if you enrol for 12 lessons but have been dormant for 4 lessons, the transfer covers the remaining lessons until the end of the 12-lesson period)
- Example: If you enrol in June 2025, you can transfer anytime before Dec 31, 2025.
Emergency Exception: Serious medical/family emergencies may qualify for pause or transfer without fee (proof required, case-by-case basis).

How the Weekly Lesson System Works
Why Lessons Are Only Available for 1 Week
Each lesson is released Monday 4pm and automatically removed Sunday 11:59pm. Here's why:
1. Creates Accountability & Rhythm
- Just like school, you know exactly when new content arrives
- Prevents endless procrastination ("I'll watch it later...")
- Builds consistent study habits week by week
2. Maintains Learning Momentum
- Keeps entire cohort moving together at the same pace
- Prevents overwhelm (focus on one lesson at a time, not 12 all at once)
- Ensures feedback is timely and relevant to current material
3. Reflects Real Classroom Structure
- Weekly lessons mirror how school teaching works
- Students who thrive with structure excel in this format
- Self-directed learners appreciate the clear expectations
4. Encourages Active Engagement
- Urgency motivates action (use it or lose it)
- Students treat lessons as "events" rather than passive library content
- Higher completion rates compared to "access forever" models
What If I Miss a Week?
No problem! You don't lose your enrolment. Just pick up with the next week's lesson and continue from there.
- Missed weeks cannot be "banked" or carried forward
- No refunds for missed content
- You keep access to future lessons as they release each Monday
- We'll check in: If you miss 2+ weeks, we'll message parents to make sure everything's okay.
Can I Re-Watch Lessons?
Yes! Within the 7-day window (Monday 4pm - Sunday 11:59pm), you can:
- Watch lessons unlimited times
- Pause, rewind, speed up (0.5x - 2x)
- Take notes and review as needed
But after Sunday: The lesson is removed to make way for next week's content.
Your Commitment
You're Signing Up for the Full Term
No Pausing or Cancellation:
- Full term commitment (number of weeks varies by academic year)
- No mid-term cancellations or refunds
- Can't pause and resume later (except medical/family emergencies)
Weekly Deadlines:
- Assignments due: Sunday 11:59pm
- Grace period: Until Monday 12pm (no penalty)
- After Monday 12pm: Marked late, lower priority for feedback
If You Become Inactive:
- After 2+ missed weeks → We'll notify parents
- If inactivity continues → No action taken (you forfeit missed weeks, but stay enrolled)
- You still get access to new lessons each Monday

What We Expect from Students
1. Submit Original Work
- No plagiarism, no AI-generated essays, no copying
- You're shortchanging yourself if you submit dishonest work (we won't terminate you, but you're wasting your money)
2. Be Respectful
- Polite communication via email
- Abusive behavior → Immediate termination without refund
3. Keep Your Login Private
- Don't share credentials or course materials
- Sharing content → Immediate termination without refund

What You Can Expect from Us
Feedback Turnaround
- Standard: 3-4 working days (usually by Thursday)
- Extended: Up to 7 days in exceptional circumstances (illness, high volume, holidays)
Support
We'll help with:
- Lesson clarifications
- Assignment feedback questions
- Specific school comprehension/essay questions (if targeted)
We won't:
- Review full school exam papers (may offer as paid add-on later)
- Do extensive school homework help
- Mark additional essays outside weekly assignments
Response time: Within 2 working days (often sooner)

Your Data & Privacy
What We Collect
- Name, email, phone, school level
- Submitted assignments and feedback
- Payment info (via Stripe/PayNow)
- WhatsApp messages
How We Use It
- Deliver lessons and feedback
- Track progress
- Send reminders and updates
- Improve teaching quality
We never sell your data to third parties.

Important Disclaimers
No Guaranteed Results
We provide expert teaching + strategic feedback, but we cannot guarantee specific grades. Results depend on:
- Your baseline ability
- Consistency of effort
- How well you apply feedback
- External factors (school, personal circumstances, exam difficulty)
Not a Replacement for School
English Mastery is supplementary. You still need to:
- Attend school regularly
- Complete school assignments
- Study independently for exams

Can English Mastery Terminate My Enrolment?
Yes, in these cases:
- Abusive/threatening behavior toward the Instructor
- Sharing login credentials or course materials
- Violating intellectual property (recording/redistributing content)
Result: Immediate termination, no refund, no transfer.
