Proof Required: Medical certificates, hospitalisation records, or other verifiable documentation must be provided.
This is not a guarantee: Each case will be evaluated individually. English Mastery reserves the right to deny exceptions if circumstances do not warrant special consideration.
5. ENROLMENT COMMITMENT & ACCESS
5.1 Term Commitment
When you enrol in a term package, you are committing to the full term duration. The number of weeks per term varies according to the academic year calendar.
- No Mid-Term Cancellation: You cannot cancel, pause, or withdraw mid-term. Payment is for the full term, regardless of whether you complete all lessons
- No Pausing: The Programme follows a structured weekly schedule. Students cannot pause their enrolment and resume later, except in cases of medical/family emergencies (see Section 4.3)
5.2 Weekly Content Access Window
- Lesson Release: Every Monday at 4:00 PM SGT
- Access Period: Monday 4:00 PM to Sunday 11:59 PM (7 days)
- Content Expiry: Lessons are automatically removed/locked after Sunday 11:59 PM
- No Extensions: Missed weeks cannot be "banked," carried forward, or re-accessed after expiry
If You Miss a Lesson: You are encouraged to continue with subsequent weeks. The weekly rhythm is designed to maintain accountability and learning momentum.
5.3 Assignment Submission Deadlines
- Primary Deadline: Sunday 11:59 PM SGT (same week as lesson release)
- Grace Period: Until Monday 12:00 PM (noon) the following day (no penalty, but cutting it close)
- Late Submissions: After Monday 12:00 PM, assignments are marked as "late" and will receive lower priority for feedback
Submission Methods:
- Primary: Google Classroom (via Kami annotation or uploaded PDF)
- Backup: Alternative submission method if technical issues arise
5.4 Continued Access Despite Inactivity
If you miss multiple weeks or stop submitting assignments, you retain access to future lessons as they are released each Monday. Your enrolment does NOT expire or get terminated due to inactivity.
However:
- After 2+ consecutive missed weeks, English Mastery may contact parents/guardians
- If inactivity continues, no further action will be taken
- You forfeit any refund or credit for missed weeks—the Programme is designed for self-directed students who take responsibility for their own engagement
6. STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1 Eligibility & Suitability
English Mastery is designed for self-directed students who:
- Are in Secondary 1-4 (O-Level or SEC track)
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Value expert teaching and strategic feedback over live hand-holding
- Are willing to submit assignments consistently and apply feedback
Not Suitable For:
- Students who need live supervision or extensive hand-holding
- Students seeking a social tuition experience or peer group bonding
- Students expecting overnight grade improvements without consistent effort
By enrolling, you acknowledge that you (or your child) fit the above profile.
6.2 Academic Integrity
Students must submit original work. This means:
- No plagiarism from online sources, model essays, or other students
- No AI-generated content (ChatGPT, etc.) submitted as your own writing
- No copying from tutors, enrichment materials, or guidebooks without proper attribution
Consequence of Dishonesty: While the Instructor will not terminate enrolment for academic dishonesty, you are shortchanging yourself. The Programme's value lies in receiving strategic feedback on YOUR authentic thinking and writing. Submitting work that isn't yours defeats the purpose and wastes your investment.
6.3 Respectful Communication
All communication with the Instructor must be respectful, professional, and constructive.
Unacceptable Behaviour includes but is not limited to:
- Harassment, threats, or abusive language
- Repeated spam messages or demands outside stated response times
- Inappropriate or offensive content
Consequence: English Mastery reserves the right to immediately terminate your enrolment without refund or transfer rights if you engage in abusive or inappropriate behaviour.
6.4 Content Sharing & Account Security
Your enrolment is for your personal use only (or for one child, if purchased by a parent).
Prohibited Actions:
- Sharing login credentials with other students, friends, or family members
- Recording, downloading, or redistributing lesson videos
- Sharing worksheets, assignments, or proprietary materials outside the Programme
- Allowing others to access your account
Consequence: Violation of these terms will result in immediate termination of enrolment without refund or transfer rights.
Your Responsibility: Keep your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorised access, notify English Mastery immediately.
7. FEEDBACK & SUPPORT
7.1 Strategic Feedback on Assignments
The Instructor personally reviews every submitted assignment and provides strategic feedback.
Turnaround Time:
- Standard: Within 3 working days
- Students will be notified if feedback will be delayed beyond 3 working days.
Feedback Scope:
- Identifies 1-2 core issues blocking progress (not 10 generic comments)
- Explains what needs to change, why it matters, and how to improve
- Delivered via annotated PDF or written analysis (and occasionally voice note for complex concepts)
7.2 Support Scope
Students may contact the Instructor directly for:
- Clarification on lesson content
- Questions about assignment feedback
- Guidance on applying strategies to new tasks
- Specific questions about school comprehension passages or essay topics (if question is targeted and brief)
NOT Available:
- Full review of school exam papers (may be offered as a paid add-on service in future)
- Extensive school homework help beyond quick clarifications
- Marking of additional essays outside weekly assignments
- General tutoring or live teaching sessions
Response Time: The Instructor will respond within 2 working days (often sooner). Weekends and public holidays may have delayed responses.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & DATA USAGE
8.1 Ownership of Course Materials
All lesson videos, worksheets, assignments, teaching materials, and feedback templates are the exclusive intellectual property of English Mastery.
Students are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to access and use materials solely for personal educational purposes during their active enrolment.
Prohibited Uses:
- Recording, downloading, or reproducing lesson videos
- Sharing worksheets or materials with non-enrolled individuals
- Uploading content to public platforms (YouTube, TikTok, forums, etc.)
- Commercial use or resale of any Programme materials
Consequence: Violation will result in immediate termination without refund or transfer rights, and may result in legal action for copyright infringement.
8.2 Use of Student Work
By enrolling in the Programme, Students grant English Mastery permission to use anonymised excerpts of their work for:
- Educational purposes (teaching examples in lessons)
- Marketing materials (case studies, testimonials, before/after samples)
Testimonials & Case Studies: If English Mastery wishes to feature your name, photo, or full story in marketing materials, separate written permission will be requested. You may decline without penalty.
9. PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION (PDPA COMPLIANCE)
9.1 Data Collection

9.2 Use of Data
Your data is used to:
- Deliver lessons and feedback
- Track progress
- Send programme updates

9.3 Data Security
Student data is stored securely on the learning management platform, Google Classroom, and payment processing systems. All data is password-protected and encrypted where applicable.
Third-Party Access: English Mastery does NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
9.4 Data Retention
Student data (assignments, feedback, progress records, communication logs) is retained for operational and record-keeping purposes.
10. DISCLAIMERS & LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
10.1 No Guaranteed Results
English Mastery provides expert teaching and strategic feedback but CANNOT guarantee specific grade improvements or O-Level/SEC exam results.
Academic outcomes depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to:

English Mastery is not liable for:
- Technical issues with the learning platform, Google Classroom, or payment systems
- Student's internet connectivity problems or device malfunctions
- Platform downtime, maintenance, or service interruptions beyond English Mastery's control
Student Responsibility: You must have reliable internet access and a compatible device to access the Programme. If you experience technical issues, contact English Mastery immediately for alternative submission methods.
10.4 Third-Party Platforms
The Programme relies on third-party platforms. English Mastery is not responsible for:
- Changes to third-party terms of service or privacy policies
- Security breaches or data loss on third-party platforms (beyond English Mastery's reasonable control)
- Platform feature changes or discontinuation
10.5 Health & Wellbeing Disclaimer
Termly workshops include mindset development and exam anxiety management techniques. These are educational strategies, NOT mental health therapy or counselling.
If you or your child experience serious anxiety, depression, or mental health concerns, please consult a qualified mental health professional (psychologist, counsellor, psychiatrist).
The Instructor is not a licensed therapist and does not provide medical or psychological treatment.
11. TERMINATION OF ENROLMENT

- English Mastery may pursue legal action for serious violations (copyright infringement, defamation, etc.)
11.2 No Termination for Inactivity
English Mastery will not terminate your enrolment if you stop attending lessons or submitting assignments. You retain access to future content releases, but you forfeit the value of missed weeks (no refunds, no extensions).
12. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
12.1 Informal Resolution
If you have concerns, complaints, or disputes regarding the Programme, please contact English Mastery directly.
English Mastery will make reasonable efforts to resolve issues informally through discussion and mutual understanding.
